Gladstone experiences a humid, subtropical climate. Temperatures see a high of 44 degrees Celsius. High Season (June – September) This season sees bright, sunny and mild temperatures, although some cold conditions may be felt in the southeast. This is a superb time to see migrating whales, and the visibility on the Great Barrier Reef is phenomenal. There are great City Market day events happening during this season. Check the local city calendar. Shoulder Season (April – May) & (October - November) Expect the best of the Gladstone climate. Warm, enjoyable temperatures and incredibly long beach days fill the atmosphere. It is a fantastic time for snorkelling and scuba diving - tides are low and wind is scarce. Accommodation prices are at their lowest, and crowds are few. Low Season (December – March) This is the wet season. It is typically hot and humid with pouring rain in the north. Waters from Agnes beach usually bring in jelly fish around November through May. Be careful of these. On the Gold Coast it is a party season, and accommodation books out very quickly. Plan in advance if you’re thinking of visiting the area.
